Kart racer Edward Hoy finished his Formula Cadet career on a high by winning the Formula Cadet race at Shenington, near Banbury.
Ford Racing-backed Hoy, of Brackley, returned to winning form after a run of bad luck in both the Champions of the Future and Super One National Kart Championships.
Despite his misfortune, the 12-year-old has delivered some good results, keeping him in the top 15 of the UK's young karters.
He competed in his last Formula Cadet race, for eight to 12-year-olds, notching up second and third place finishes in his heats and winning the final after a head-to-head battle with James Calado.
Next year he will face the challenge of competing in the Formula Yamaha class for 12 to 16-year-olds.
Hoy, a student at Winchester House Prep School, said: "This is a brilliant way to finish the year and to end my Formula Cadet career. This win allows me to look forward to delivering the same level of results in the Formula Yamaha class next year. Hopefully, all of the bad luck is now behind me."
