Computer software boss Gary Marsh is switching his attention to a different sort of circuit.
The managing director of Excel Solutions, of Des Roches Square, Witney, has been running a Van Diemen RF89 in the Castle Combe Pre '90 Formula Ford 1600 series and has set his sights on a move into Europe.
"This was my first season and in my first race I finished third at Castle Combe. I have been right on the pace but I know that with a bit more finance, I could compete for the title.
"I have been funding this year largely through my own firm, which develops software for the public transport industry, but I would like to do this more competitively. His aim is to contest the Castle Combe series again in 2001, as well as a number of Superclassic events.
He said: "I upgraded to a National A licence fairly quickly, which means I can compete in Europe. It has been my dream to drive on the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, and there is a Superclassic round there and also one at Zandvoort in Holland next season.
"The Superclassic rounds also visit most of the top circuits in the country including Donington Park, Thruxton, and Brands Hatch, which will be great.
