Bikers are being given the chance to improve their riding skills at a special course in Bicester.
Policeman Graham Owen, 44, who lives in the town, has developed the course for riders who have just passed their test.
He said: "Often young riders jump from smaller motorcycles to much more powerful machines and find they have problems handling the bigger bike."
He has developed the course with colleagues through the Open College Network. After a series of sessions riders can gain an accredited qualification.
"The course is all about helping to save lives. Too many riders end up in crashes," said Graham.
Adult education outreach worker, Mr Graham Ablett, said: "We are pleased to offer a taster session in the hope that riders will sign up for a full course. Safety on our busy roads is all important these days." A one-day course is being held as part of a series of winter workshops at the Bicester Adult Continuing Education Centre at Bicester Community College in Queen's Avenue on Saturday.
Full details are available from the centre on 01869 241532.
