After spending many months touring with current chart favourite, David Gray, the 25-year-old, Cork-based singer-songwriter Mundy, is headlining a tour in his own right, writes Templeton Blake.
His debut album Jelly Legs was released back in 96 via Sony/Epic Records. It was met by widescale public and critical acclaim.
The ensuing hectic two-year schedule of promotion and touring also saw his song To You I Bestow included on the soundtrack for the film Romeo and Juliet.
This further enhanced his reputation, his already hectic schedule becoming even busier!
As well as touring with David Gray, Mundy has also supported an eclectic number of acts and artists an impressive list that includes Neil Young, Alanis Morrisette, Cast, The Longpigs, Manic Street Preachers, Mansun and Morrison.
After parting company with Sony earlier this year, Mundy went back in the studio with fresh ideas and a new-found enthusiasm, working with Andrew Philpott, whose credits include Depeche Mode.
The result was the new EP The Moon is a Bullet Hole four stunning tracks which display the varied dimensions of Mundy's talent.
The Moon is a Bullet Hole is released officially the day after his visit to to the The Kooler at The Bullingdon, Cowley Road, on Sunday.
If melodic, passionate and stunningly emotive songs appeal, Mundy most certainly will.
This is a man on a mission, spreading his endearing, gentle yet powerful brand of songs to an ever-growing army of admirers.
So remember, it's Mundy on Sunday. Monday will be too late!
