Oxford United manager Dave Kemp hopes to have three new players in by the weekend. And that doesn't count any foreign triallists that Joe Kinnear, the club's director of football, is working on trying to bring to the Manor.
Kemp watched two games on Tuesday and another yesterday, and said: "I hope to have three players by the weekend and available for selection by Saturday's game at Swansea.
"One is a permanent signing, and we are in negotiations with the player, and the other two would probably be loan signings at the moment, buying us time to maybe make them permanent signings after that."
However, the U's new boss said it was by no means certain he would get all three, because persuading players to come to Oxford is no easy task.
"If this was June and everything was equal, I'd be pretty certain of getting them," he said. "But it can be very hard getting players to come to a club who are bottom of the table, especially if there are other clubs keen to take them."
However, Kemp and Kinnear have been working hard to bring in some new blood and it seems likely there will be at least one new face in the side for the Division 2 game against the Swans at the Vetch Field.
