Two of the greatest Second World War commando raids were carried out by canoeists on enemy shipping at St. Nazaire and Bordeaux harbour.
Historian Lucas Phillips long ago wrote this classic and Cockleshell Heroes about these courageous exploits. They are now reproduced in Pan's Grand Strategy Series in time for Remembrance Day.
