The strong arm of the law was needed to deal with a little traffic problem caused by Cedric the cygnet.
Roadworks, cones, accidents and the sheer volume of traffic are the usual reasons for delays on our roads.
Cedric takes a peck at a passerby
But there was a new excuse why the 4a bus was late arriving at Elms Rise - Cedric the cygnet.
Cedric decided he had had enough of water - after all, with all the floods about, it was difficult to see where the river started and ended.
So he plumped for a spot of dry land - right in the middle of busy Botley Road, Oxford.
It didn't matter an ounce to him that a few thousand humans wanted to go about their daily business.
Passersby, including a police officer, tried their best to usher Cedric to safety.
His response? A sharp peck on the backside for one of his would-be rescuers.
