Thirty-five people in Oxfordshire now will be able to sleep more easily.
They are among the 5,000 people who won a free smoke alarm in a competition run by GMTV in September.
The smoke alarms, donated by EI Electronics, were presented at the Slade Fire Station at Headington, Oxford, on Saturday.
The promotion coincided with the national launch of the Home Office fire action plan campaign to encourage each household to make sure each member knows how to get out in the event of a fire. More than 12,000 people phoned the programme each day.
The Oxford Mail has been running a campaign urging readers to invest in smoke alarms.
