Inspector Morse creator Colin Dexter has joined a list of celebrities to contribute to a special charity brain teaser, writes Victoria Owen.
The Imperial Cancer Research Fund quiz has been launched to raise 25,000.
Mr Dexter, of Oxford, is one of 12 famous people to write a question for the teaser, which costs 10 to take part.
The winner of the 144-question quiz will be rewarded with a weekend for two in Paris and a 100 book token.
Other celebrities who have taken part include Tony Blair and dancer Darcy Bussell.
Anyone who would like to try the quiz, which comes in a festive booklet and covers categories from astronomy to zoology, should contact the ICRF hotline on 020 7269 3106.
