An educational programme on the imprisonment of more than 300 Civil War soldiers in Burford church will be shown on BBC2 on Tuesday (November 21).
The soldiers were known as the Levellers and three of them were executed in the churchyard in 1649. Every year hundreds of people go to Burford to celebrate Levellers' Day.
The programme, one of four 15-minute History File programmes, includes a dramatisation of the events of May 1649 filmed in and around Burford church and is preceded by scenes from Levellers' Day 2000. Civil War re-enactment societies are also featured.
The programme is narrated by TV presenter Kirsty Wark.
The four programmes will be screened between 3am and 4am.
The producer Iwan Russell-Jones said: "I'm really pleased with the programme. The series is transmitted as a block in the middle of the night so that schools can easily video all four programmes together."
