Yesterday's news doesn't always end up as fish and chip paper - at least not on the World Wide Web.

This is Oxfordshire, has just launched its own archive, featuring all the news and sports stories published on the site since 1998. Easily accessible from the news and sport sections, the archive can be searched using keywords. An index of stories featuring the words then appears - ordered by relevance to your search, with the articles that feature your keywords most often appearing at the top of the list.

"This is something which readers have been asking for ever since we relaunched the site in May," commented site editor Andy Chatfield. "We are delighted it is here at last and hope visitors to the site find it really useful and informative."

Every news and sports story published on the site is now being automatically archived the following day.
