Oxford's own professional orchestra accompanies popular choir Magnificat in a performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, tomorrow evening, writes Chris Gray.
The Magnificat with the City of Oxford Orchestra programme also includes Vivaldi's Gloria. Levon Parikian will conduct both works on this occasion.
The orchestra continues its 35th anniversary year celebrations with a traditional Christmas carol concert on December 9 also at the Sheldonian and on Sunday December 17 at Exeter College Chapel there will be two performances of a programme entitled Christmas Concerto by Candelight, featuring music by Vivaldi, Bach, Corelli, Pachelbel and Manfredini.
Tomorrow's concert begins at 8pm and tickets for this and other dates are available from the Oxford Playhouse box office, telephone 01865 798600 or the orchestra's ticket hotline, 01865 744457.
