Trevor Reeve's strike was good enough to give Souldern a 1-0 win over Vodafone Retail in Section E of the Charlie Rawlings Cup, writes David Gregory.
Finmere's hopes of progressing were dented as they went down 6-3 to Fritwell. Greg Auger bagged a brace and Dick Auger also netted for Finmere.
Bakels Crusaders went down 4-3 to Cropredy Res despite a goal apiece by Paul Wardell, Mark Hoare and Dave Carson.
In Section F, Finmere Res were swept aside 6-1 by Middleton Cheney with Joe Taylor's penalty providing the consolation goal.
In the only Dave Wood Cup match to survive the weather, Cutteslowe paid the penalty for missing too many chances as they went down 2-0 to Cropredy.
