The event, looking at WAP, or Wireless Application Protocol, is being held by the Oxfordshire Media Network, at the Oxford Centre, 333 Banbury Road, Oxford, on Wednesday, November 22, from 5pm to 7.30pm.

Chairman of the event Bob O'Shea, who chairs Oxmedianet, said WAP was set to revolutionise the way in which we communicate and do business.

He said: "Certainly current hardware is a little clumsy and restricts format and content the bandwidth problem. However, lurking over the horizon is a wave of technology just waiting to arrive at a mobile near you."

Speakers include Dr Nick Mayhew, strategic solutions director of Domino, and Ian Dredge, strategic account manager of Nokia Internet Communications. Admission is 10 on the door. For details, see www.oxmedianet.net
