Oxford won an exciting Midland League Senior Division encounter, beating a strong Stafford team by 6-4 at the Forum in Kidlington.
After losing the first two sets, Jeremy Flint (Forum) got Oxford off the mark with a fighting 23-21 win in the third.
Oxford then proceeded to take five of the next six sets to clinch the victory.
No fewer than four sets were decided by two points in the third and incredibly, all finished in favour of Oxford.
Jeremy Flint won two sets, as did his twin brother Andrew (Forum), while Andy Packford (Crown House) won one.
At a vital stage of the match with the score at two sets each, the Flint twins recorded a comfortable straight sets win in the doubles.
**Forum A's Karl Bushell, Jeremy Flint and Andrew Flint hammered St James A 10-0 in Division 1 of the Oxford League as they stepped up their bid to retain the title.
In Division 2, Morris Motors C draw 5-5 with Bicester A, Mary Darling winning all her matches for Bicester.
Crown House B kept up their challenge with a 9-1 win over Vikings C. Mark Newns caught the eye with his all-round attacking game, and Dave Gardner recorded a good win over Dave Hearn.
JanetBrown and Chris Alder both notched maximums as Begbroke won away to Vikings C.
Rodney Brown was outstanding for Haddenham B in their 9-1 win over Holton A in Division 3. He has been out of league action for the last eight years but showed he has lost none of his ability as he recorded a maximum.
In Division 3, Bicester C saw off St James C, with Sam Dallaway winning all three for the victors.
Kidlington Forum G continue to pull away from the rest of the field.
Despite a fighting performance from Bicester D's Chapple, they ran out 8-2 winners at Exeter Hall. Glen Stiffle was unbeaten for the victors.
