Southfield member Tony Paddy and doubles partner Mike Massey triumphed in the Police Athletic Association National Championship at Tunbridge Wells.
Kidlington-based Paddy, who retired from Thames Valley Police in 1989, and Massey, from the Avon & Somerset force, were unbeaten in their five matdches over the two days at the championships for retired British police officers.
They only dropped two sets out of 12, and Paddy, at 67, was the oldest competitor in the tournament.
Paddy and Massey were going one better than last year when they finished runners-up in the same competition.
