Two women in the same family gave birth on the same day after an amazing set of coincidences.
Marina and Kim with their baby boysKim Gledhill and Mariana Gledhill are married to brothers Paul and Neil. They were amazed when they:
**Conceived at the same time, on holiday together in Oman
**Discovered they were pregnant on the same day
**Were taken to adjoining delivery rooms at the John Radcliffe Hospital
**Gave birth on the same day
**Both had boys.
They conceived their baby sons while on holiday while visiting their husbands' parents in Oman.
Mariana, 22, and husband Neil, 30, of Exbourne Road, Abingdon, have named their 8lb 5oz son - their second child - Jake.
Kim, 30, and husband Paul, 28, of Overmead, Abingdon, plan to name their 7lb 7oz son - their fourth child - Kieran.
Mariana said: "We are a close family and we live down the road from each other, so I was glad to have someone to go through the same thing with me.
"I thought it was funny and I could not stop laughing when I found I was next to Kim which probably helped. The two people who were shocked the most were our husbands."
Kim was due to give birth last Thursday. Mariana was due to go into labour on Saturday and went to hospital, but she was sent home told to return on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Kim went into labour.
Kim's baby boy arrived at 11am and Mariana's bundle of joy at 4pm.
Kim said: "I'm quite close to Mariana. We went on holiday together in February, we do a lot together. But we certainly didn't plan this.
"I had a feeling it might happen. It is very nice to think they will celebrate their birthday together. The two dads are very close and very excited about the whole thing. They can't wait to celebrate.
"The two babies will probably have a special bond now, but we will have to wait and see."
The two mums left hospital together, babes in arms, at 2pm on Monday.
