Canadian international striker Simon Vickers, who has been on trial with Oxford United this week, has signed non-contract forms with Oxford City.
Vickers trained with City last night, and is included in the squad for tomorrow's Division 1 game against Ford United at Court Place Farm although his availability depends on international clearance being received.
He is also set to go on trial with third division Chester City next week as he seeks to break into the pro game.
Meanwhile, former Oxford United striker Mark Druce's loan spell with City from Woking has been extended for another month with a view to a permanent signing.
Central defender Michael Thorp is set to play his first game for nine weeks after damaging a cheekbone and then tearing shoulder ligaments in training.
But midfielder Simon Abercrombie, who has been sidelined for two months, faces a further four weeks out after a scan revealed he has chipped a bone in his ankle. Centre back Andy Smith (Achilles) is also ruled out.
Runaway Division 1 leaders Thame United hope to have centre backs Martin Brown and Andy Williams back from injury for their trip to Romford.
The pair were both missing as Thame crashed out of the league cup 4-0 to Basingstoke Town on Tuesday.
Full back Greg Williams also returns to the squad after being out for six weeks with a broken finger, but Dave Tregurtha faces at least another ten days on the sidelines with his calf injury.
