School pupils have beenstrutting their stuff for a charity fashion extravaganza, writes Jonathan Gunning.
Girls from Wychwood School, Banbury Road, Oxford rehearsed hard for their catwalk routines for the Millennium Year Fashion Show, which took place yesterday and concludes today. The event was in aid of Children in Need.
The show includes the work of about 100 of the school's 160 pupils, with art, textiles and photography students all involved.
The fashion collection ranges from beachwear to evening wear, with clothes made from techniques including tie-dying, batik, fabric printing, cutaway applique and quilting used by the girls to create their designs.
Highlights of the show include a dress constructed from CDs and a wedding dress made entirely from recycled paper and pressed rose-petals.
