Mother-of-two Jane Rider was celebrating today after winning 32,000 on TV's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
A little richer: Jane RiderThe former can-can dance champion, of Wensum Crescent, Bicester, who reached 8,000 on Monday's show, answered two questions last night. Mrs Rider, 36, whose Army staff sergeant husband Chris is serving in Sierra Leone, successfully named the official language of Liechtenstein as German and, after phoning a friend, William Wordsworth's house as Dove Cottage.
She fell at the next hurdle when she was asked which organisation advocated gradual social reform within the law. She answered the 1922 Committee. The correct answer was the Fabian Society.
She said: I have had people on the phone and e-mails, congratulating me for getting on the programme."
Two other Oxfordshire people featured on TV last night, in BBC's Trading Places.
Recruitment firm managing director Pauline Evans, of Denchworth Road, Wantage, had a taste of working from home in her spare bedroom when she swapped jobs with Laurence Peach, who works for Faringdon firm Intrinsic.
**The last episode of Inspector Morse on Wednesday attracted more than 13m viewers, 53 per cent of the TV audience.
