Shoppers will enjoy a white Christmas in Witney even if it does not snow.
The town will be decorated with new white Christmas lights thanks to the Chamber of Trade, Town Council and Witney Town Hall Charity.
The Chamber of Trade, who organise and provide the lights, can no longer use the existing ones as they do not comply with new legislation.
The chamber's chairman Ann Parkes contacted the town council and town hall charity for financial backing to make sure the town is lit up this Christmas.
Mayor Louise Chapman said: "We have agreed to provide funding towards the cost of the new white lights and the town hall charity is also contributing. This is an excellent example of working together to benefit the town."
The lights will be switched during a Victorian evening on Wednesday, November 29. Events will include Punch and Judy, clowns, a children's fair in the Market Square and Witney Town Band playing carols around the Christmas tree.
Children and parents are being asked to assemble at the Welch Way car park at 6.15pm to form part of a ceremonial procession up the High Street to Market Square where the lights will be switched on at 6.30pm by Toffee the Clown.
Many of the town's shops will remain open until 9pm.
