The Oxford Operatic Society performs the popular musical Calamity Jane at the Oxford Playhouse from Monday to Saturday. Calamity Jane, was originally written for the screen, primarily as a vehicle for the Warner Brothers star Doris Day. It is a romantic story of a brash heroine who rides shotgun for the Deadwood stagecoach and who tries to behave like a man, but is constantly foiled by her all-too-womanly feelings. Jo Mills will play the title role with Richard Talbot as Wild Bill Hickok.
