A trio of musicians livened up a school day with strange sounds and instruments.
They widened the horizons of youngsters fed mainly on a diet of commercial pop music.
The group, Travelling By Tuba, called in yesterday to give workshops and a concert to Witney's Tower Hill School.
And they brought with them an array of wind and percussion instruments. One was based on the ancient Roman cornu, a type of horn, while also in the music bag of tricks were Pan Pipes, a Chinese priest's trumpet and Egyptian occarina.
The group, made up of Stewart Death, Christopher Cranham and Gavin Woods, are touring several Oxfordshire primary schools.
Mr Woods said: "Many children today do not hear much more than commercial pop, so it is fun and eye-opening for them to see so many different sorts of instruments and the sounds they can make."
