Carterton Town marched into the third round with a superb display to see off St Blazey from Cornwall at Kilkenny Lane in Saturday's second-round replay.

And they had to come from behind against the Jewson South Western League leaders to book another trip to Cornwall in round three. They are away to Falmouth, who saw off Warminster 3-1 in their delayed second-round tie.

Once again, there was no shortage of goals on Saturday following the thrilling 4-4 extra-time draw the previous week.

St Blazey took the lead in the 12th minute. Carterton keeper Nick Heritage miskicked and the ball landed at the feet of 17-year-old Andrew Morris, who made no mistake.

Carterton, with skipper Andy Leach outstanding, were back on terms after 35 minutes when a three-man move involving Andy Henry, Robbie Wyatt and Kevin Lewis set up James Mortimer-Jones to drive the ball home from 20 yards.

After the break, Carterton looked full of confidence and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the 55th minute with a cracking goal.

Michael Herbert beat three St Blazey players before thumping home a 30-yard drive which flew in the corner of the net with St Blazey keeper David Phillips rooted to his line.

Henry sealed it in the 70th minute, firing home from 20 yards.
