Historic buildings in the county are to be photographed and the pictures recorded in an Internet archive.
They will form part of the Images of England scheme, run by the National Monuments Record, the public archive of English Heritage.
Volunteer photographers from the Royal Photographic Society will picture the listed buildings, and the records will join thousands of others on the Images of England Web site by 2002. Among the images to be photographed are the K6 telephone kiosk on Wallingford Bridge, Banbury Cross, the Old Gaol at Abingdon, a milestone at Bloxham, Wantage's statue of King Alfred and the Blue Boar pub in Chipping Norton, as well as scores of buildings in Oxford itself.
