A standard lamp too close to curtains is believed to have caused a house fire in Oxford at the weekend.
Three fire crews from Rewley Road and Slade Park tackled the blaze in the ground-floor lounge of the property in Warwick Street, east Oxford, shortly before midnight on Friday.
Neighbours raised the alarm after a hearing the sound of a smoke detector and noticing smoke at the windows.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereels to put out the flames.
