Wallingford ran out comfortable winners against a Walton side lying two places above them in the Courage Combined Counties League table.
The win, which moves them up to fourth, was based on a confident display from the defence which limited the home team to a handful of half-chances.
Wallingford's biggest scare of the match came after just two minutes when Hunter's shot was blocked by a crowd of defenders, but the visitors went ahead with eight minutes gone.
Ian Concannon's shot was blocked and Andy Shildrick was there to sidefoot the rebound home.
Four minutes into the second half, Wallingford scored their second from a Andy Parr corner. Shildrick stepped over the ball, leaving Rob Antonowicz to finish well at the far post.
On 70 minutes, Parr curled in another dangerous corner and keeper Smyrk just scrambled the ball away from the goal line.
With 13 minutes left, Smyrk was sent off for dissent, but Wallingford could not add to their lead.
