Will Trigg stunned British Airways with a four-goal blast in Abingdon's 5-1 victory in their Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Area Division 1 clash at Tilsley Park.

In a bruising encounter, which saw three players receive temporary suspensions in a five-minute period midway through the second half, Trigg was Abingdon's hero.

He got his first on seven minutes when he found space 12 yards out to shoot past the static British Airways def- ence.

However, straight from the restart, BA equalised when Bhaura rounded the Abingdon keeper to shoot home from a narrow angle.

Trigg restored Abingdon's lead when his deft deflection on a pass into the circle from Ron Smith wrong-footed the BA keeper.

Ten minutes into the second half, Trigg recorded his hat-trick when, from a penalty corner move, he flicked the ball low into the goal.

Ross Morgan scored Abingdon's fourthwith a low drive into the corner.

Finally, Trigg resumed his goalscoring duties, sending the BA goalkeeper the wrong way from a penalty stroke.

Abingdon stay just behind second-placed Banbury, who won 2-0 at Phoenix, while Bicester move further away from the bottom after beating Marlow 4-3 with goals from Matt Marsh, Chris Ruff, Wayne Dobbins and Martyn Turbayne.

City of Oxford went down to their sixth defeat in eight Regional section matches when they lost 2-0 at West Hampstead.

Rover Oxford won 2-1 at Slough in their toughest match of the season to date. Slough went in front midway through the first half but Martin Hunter, from Neil Strange's pass, and Rob Austen, at a short corner, completed a superb comeback.
