A substantial amount of jewellery has been stolen from a store in Abingdon the second incident in the area in days.
An unknown number of people smashed the window of the Argos store in Fairacres on Thursday or the early hours of Friday, and took what police described as a 'substantial' amount of jewellery.
This theft follows an incident on Tuesday. when a suspected shoplifter escaped after a scuffle with staff at the nearby B&Q store.
The man was chased by security staff, and was being escorted back, when a car containing three men pulled up beside the group. A scuffle broke out and the detained man jumped into the car, which sped off towards the town centre.
