A combined Oxford and Kidlington team won the team prize and a hatful of individual prizes at the Post Office regional cross country championships, held over 3T laps of an undulating parkland course at Crossborough Hill, Basingstoke.

Roy Treadwell finished third overall and first V50 in the race, which was about 5T miles long.

Martin Townsend was seventh overall and third V40, while Paul Grimsdale was 14th overall and second V45, with Simon Ravenhall finishing a creditable 28th.

There was a personal best from Eynsham Roadrunner M Gascoigne in the 10-mile road race at Bournemouth on Sunday.

**Headington Ladies' team of Phillippa Jones, Jo Choulerton, Sally Howard and Helen Turley won first prize in the Herbert's Hole 10km Challenge at Chesham.

Jones was also third in the senior ladies race in this off-road event.

Brian Page was the first Alchester member to complete the distance in a time of 54.56.

Dave Howse was the second club athlete home in 59.38 while Andy Johnson produced a solid performance to finish in 63.37, and Geoff Hanks came home in 74.49.
