A man was jailed for six months for taking cannabis into prison as a Christmas present for an inmate.
Christopher Adams, 23, admitted taking the drug into Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester, for a friend, Oxford Crown Court heard.
David Robinson, prosecuting, said prison officers watched on CCTV cameras as Adams and two men met a prisoner named MacIntyre in the visitors' room on November 28 last year.
They saw them behaving suspiciously and MacIntyre dropped something and Adams, of Solihull, picked up the item. Police were called and Adams handed the package to officers and gave a false name. He said the drugs were worth about 25 and it was a Christmas present. The package contained 12.8 grams of cannabis and 1.53 grams of magic mushrooms which were not in an illegal form.
