A stunning display from The Oxfordshire's pairing of Nigel Lucas and Andrew Stubbs dented Oxford City's hopes of avoiding relegation from Section 1 of the Shaw & Co Oxfordshire Foursomes League.
Lucas and Stubbs were four under par for the 11 holes played as they walloped Dougie Hamilton 8 & 7 in their basement battle.
This inspired The Oxfordshire to a 2-1 victory, which eased their own relegation worries and left City languishing at the bottom.
It's a desperately close battle, which could be resolved this Saturday when the four teams in danger of the drop are involved in two matches.
Oxford City entertain Studley Wood, who missed the chance to attain safety when losing 2-1 to Buckingham last week a result that saved Buckingham. Meanwhile, Burford are at home to Studley Wood.
That would leave just City's abandoned match against Ellesborough, which will be completed on December 9.
One matter was resolved last Saturday, when Tadmarton Heath beat Drayton Park in a play-off at Magnolia Park to secure the second promotion spot in Section 3.
