Sarah Huntle kept it in the family when she smashed a course record by five strokes in the November stableford competition at Frilford Heath, writes Michael Knox.
The four-handicapper made light of the heavy conditions to shoot an astonishing two-under-par 69 on the Blue course to beat a long-standing record held by her mother Pat.
Huntley senior set the old mark when she fired a 74 way back in 1995 one year after Frilford's third course was opened.
Sarah won the stableford competition with 42 points, six clear of Angela Hudson.
**The Springs Golf Club, near Wallingford, clinched the Division 2 title in the Central 7s League with a 6T-T victory over Silverstone.
This means that The Springs, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season, will compete in Division 1 next year.
Setting a high personal standard with only one defeat all season, team captain Steve Wilkinson was pleased for James Ash and Gareth Davies, two of the up-and-coming juniors in the side.
This success brings some consolation to The Springs, who lost to Lambourne in the final of the Plate Competition of the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Hillman Trophy.
**Former Witney Town footballer Martin Wood shot a winter course record of 68 when he and Jane Collerton won the Howie Pritchard Trophy at Witney Lakes. The par for the altered winter course is 69.
**Professional Julian Goodman and his team retained Waterstock's Rydor
Cup with a 23T-14T victory against club captain Roger Thorne's team over three weekends of foursomes, fourball and singles matches.
**WITNEY Lakes' new captains Steve Williams and Karen Lock will drive into office this Saturday at 9am. The drive-ins will be followed by a Texas Scramble.
**OXFORD City raised more than 1,000 for Children in Need from a series of activites last weekend.
