Oxfordshire trainers Gerard Butler and Alan Jarvis were among the winners at Lingfield on a day which saw a jockeys protest over the Equitrack surface.
Butler sent out Ball King to make a winning debut in the first division of the one-mile maiden under Brett Doyle, who was notching his first winner on just his third ride since returning from Hong Kong.
Jarvis, who trains at Aston Upthorpe near Blewbury, produced Waverley Road to take the first division of the mile and a quarter handicap in the hands of Neil Callan.
But off the track the jockeys were up in arms, claiming that the surface was deteriorating due to moisture getting into the sand and freezing it into larger blocks.
Now the course will have to pass an inspection by the Jockey Club before racing next Tuesday goes ahead.
