The number of people arrested following calls to Crimestoppers has dropped dramatically.
Eighty-eight people were detained in the Thames Valley area from April to October this year, compared with 164 in the same period last year.
Latest figures show that 17 people were arrested and charged during October this year as a result of calls to the confidential crime reporting line.
During the month, 96 calls were received by Thames Valley call centres, including 26 about drugs, 20 about people driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or while disqualified and 12 about traffic offences.
The southern Oxfordshire police area has remained the most steady of the three county police areas, with nine arrests since April this year and 12 last year.
In Oxford, seven people have been arrested in the same period compared with 12 last year. And in northern Oxfordshire, just five people have been held this year eight fewer than last year.
Of the 17 people arrested and charged in October, eight were for drugs offences, five for driving offences, one for attempted murder, one for rape, one for burglary and one for an undisclosed offence.
Drugs with a street value of £5,280 and other goods worth £2,225 were also recovered during the same month.
