National Power have paid the price for an administrative error by having their Oxford and District matches in November declared null and void.

Power's Mixed Division 2b side and Men's Division 6 team won their respective matches against Oxford Brookes and Berinsfield B.

But when league secretary Nick Ward realised that they were the only club not to notify the league of their squad of players, the victories were turned into 9-0 defeats.

The club's match secretary is currently abroad and a spokeperson for Power was unaware of the decision and could not comment.

Meanwhile, Dave Wong and Nick Raven led Redefield to a surprising 9-0 victory over fancied Gosford Hill in Men's Division 1.

In Division 3, Gosford Hill B went down 5-4 to Windrush, for whom Ian Roberts and Yin Dong shone.

Erica Green and Wendy Jeffries ensured Gosford Hill's fifth win and their top-of-the-table position in Women's Division 1, as Wantage were beaten 5-4.

In Division 4, Evenlode B made sure of their fifth and winning rubber before conceding two through injury as they edged Eynsham 5-4.

Redefield B zoomed to the top of Division 3 of the Five Disciplines League after hosting the second round.

Graham Ashdown, Rob Eden, Annie Richards and Elena Tagg saw them to a 143-85 victory over Oxon Schools C, although Tagg was forced to share games in her match with young Ransi Galagedera 8-15, 15-11.

The three top teams all swapped positions. Leaders Evenlode B dropped to second, while second-placed Demag B slipped to third as third-placed Redefield jumped up to top spot.
