Oxford United are offering Chris Hackett a five-year contract after his sparkling home debut on Saturday.
And Joe Kinnear has also seen enough of youth team players Simon King and Jamie Brooks to offer them long-term deals at the club as well.
Kinnear, United's director of football, is determined to keep the club's best youngsters, and following Hackett's sensational debut that was capped with a blistering goal, the 17-year-old is top of the list.
"That must have been as a good a home debut as people have seen at the Manor Ground for quite a long time," Kinnear enthused.
"The pleasing thing is that he was given his chance and hasn't frozen, which it is easy to do."
And Kinnear, who witnessed first-hand the talents of winger Andrei Kanchelskis while at Wimbledon, likened Hackett to the Ukrainian.
