Oxford Cheetahs will open up their 2001 speedway campaign in six weeks' time with a home and away challenge against Coventry Bees.
It will be a good way to test their new line-up against their Midland rivals, who can't remember the last time they lost against Cheetahs.
The work-out will put Cheetahs in good stead for their opening league fixture away to Belle Vue on Monday, March 28 where they will come up against last year's Oxford favourite, Jimmy Nilsen.
They also take on Wolverhampton at home and last year's champions, Eastbourne, away in the first month of the new season.
Eastbourne also stand in their way of further Speedway Star KO Cup progress as the teams clash home and away in May.
The Grand Prix series and the World Team Cup will mean that Oxford Stadium will be on the quiet side for seven Fridays this year.
However, provision has been made for meetings on Whit Monday and August Bank Holiday Monday.
