Oxford University surrendered a 2-1 half-time lead as they lost 3-2 at home to Peterborough Town in their first match since the Christmas break in English League Division 2.
Although Mark Britton put Peterborough in front from a penalty corner in the 17th minute, two penalty corner goals in five minutes from James Cullis and Robert Woodhead gave the students the edge at the turn-around.
However, Peterborough hit back with a penalty flick from Adam Drake after 45 minutes and a flick from Shayne Andrews three minutes later.
Oxford Hawks had a frustrating day after travelling all the way to Harleston Magpies only to find their pitch waterlogged.

*Rover Oxford's promotion hopes from Area Division 2 suffered a dent as they relinquished their unbeaten record with a 2-1 defeat at Old Merchant Taylor's.
Rob Lawrence finished a counter-attack after ten minutes to give Rover the lead.
But OMT drew level before the break from a short corner.
Rover were kept in the game by Chris Slatter who saved a penalty, but OMT broke through ten minutes from time.
Roger Bates grabbed an equaliser as Witney forced a 1-1 draw at Chalfont St Peter.
