Morrells ODDA Ladies Premier League leaders Shears overcame an early setback to convincingly see off Section 1 rivals Cherwell Club.
The visitors romped into a shock lead when Sylvia Middleton beat Iris Doyle in the opening game, but then Shears upped a gear and powered home 8-1.
The all-Section 1 clash saw General Elliott go down 5-4 at home to East Oxford Conservative Club in a thrilling match.
Elliott got off to a brilliant start when Carole Benzie, Sandra Witts and Debbie Campbell gave them a 3-0 lead. But the visitors staged a great recovery when L Reveley, M Reveley and Teresa Bowden levelled the scores at 3-3. A 2-1 pairs success ensured victory.
