Oxfordshire Under 20s opened their Championship campaign with a 30-12 victory over the RAF in wet and windy conditions at RAF Halton on Sunday.
All the county's points came from two of the four players from Chipping Norton, who chose to put county honours before their own Oxon KO Cup aspirations.
Martin Nutt scored two tries, while Adam Smith recorded a personal tally of 20 points.
Oxfordshire led 19-12 at half-time with tries from Nutt (2) and Smith, who also kicked two conversions. The RAF managed two tries and one conversion.
The atrocious weather worsened in the second half, but Smith remained undaunted as he ran in a further unconverted try and kicked two penalties.
The RAF, though gallant, could not penetrate a superb Oxfordshire defence.
