David Kemp is staying on as Oxford United's manager. Joe Kinnear wanted to take him with him to Luton Town, but United chairman Firoz Kassam is refusing to let Kemp break his contract, which still has 17 months to run.
Kemp and Kassam met yesterday and the two discussed the whole range of issues that needed to be thrashed out in the wake of Kinnear's departure from the Manor last week.
My understanding is that Kinnear will now be installed as Luton's director of football and, having been unable to prise Kemp away from Oxford, the Hatters look set to stick with Lil Fuccillo as team manager.
They are expected to hold a press conference in the next few days.
At United, meanwhile, Kemp has been told he must get on with the job.
The former Plymouth boss and Crystal Palace and Portsmouth coach refused to comment on speculation linking him with the Kenilworth Road post and merely reiterated: "I don't really want to leave Oxford."
