Sixth-form students are being invited to describe their favourite city in French, German, Spanish, Italian or Japanese and win a trip to Los Angeles.
Oxford Brookes University has teamed up with The Rough Guide to organise a multilingual travel writing competition for young people studying languages at AS or A level.
The winner of the first prize will receive two return flights to Los Angeles, sponsored by The Rough Guide, and may be invited to do some research and travel writing for the company.
Information and entry forms have been sent to schools throughout the UK and can also be obtained from the School of Languages at Oxford Brookes University, by e-mail at enquiries@sol.brookes.ac.uk or by calling 01865 483720. The competition closes on February 26.
