Headington Con Club A caused a big upset in the second round of the Oxford League's Stephen Reiss Cup when they eliminated holders New Club.
This is the league's main team event, with one point being awarded for a win and two for the better aggregate.
Peter Brookes (+100) gave Headington a superb start when he won the opening game from George Washington (+80) by 150-101.
Justin Shepherd (+80) levelled the match when he beat Geoff Barrett (+100) 150-146, but HCC A held a 45-point aggregate lead going into the final game.
This proved too much for Andy Moss (+110), who was beaten 150-120 by John Williams (+80).
Headington, who won 4-1 and 446-371 on aggregate, now go through to the semi-finals, where they will play Witney.
Witney took on Crown House on their own table and won 4-1.
Terry Cook (+50) beat Len Palmer (+100) 150-125, and then Steve Mill (+110), coming from behind with a splendid 35 break, won 150-145 against Keith Pearce (+70), giving New Club an aggregate lead of 30 points.
This meant that in the final game Dick Hashman (-50) had to win by 31 points if Crown House were to be successful.
However, John Hume (+30), although he lost 200-188, managed to get enough points for Witney to win 488-470 on aggregate .
Morris Motors won 4-1 against Ashton, with the result in the balance until the final game.
Roger Tomlin (+80) gave Morris a good start by winning 150-140 against Tony Brayshaw (+50). Nobby Noble (+110) replied by beating Doug Baker (+60) 150-109 to give Ashton a 31-point lead.
However, Motors' Bob Hayward (+80) hung onto his 90-point start to come home 200-163, giving his side a 459-453 victory.
Rileys A beat Eynsham 4-1 with a 378-356 aggregate scoreline and now meet Morris Motors in the semi-finals, which will be played at the Cowley Con Club on Wednesday, February 28.
