Porto had a player and their manager red-carded but still knocked Arncott out of the Jack Sadler Cup in an eventful first-round tie , writes Geoff Bower.

Arncott, who switched their game with AFC Porto to Merton in order to get the tie played, took the lead in the second half through Gary Lawton, but Porto levelled.

Chris McMillan fired over the top from an Arncott penalty, but Lawton netted from the spot two minutes later.

Porto then appeared to lose their heads as first one player got sent off and then their manager, who was running the line, was also dismissed.

However, the ten men battled back to level and take the tie into extra time.

Lawton completed his hat-trick, but Porto refused to give in and equalised again to take the tie to a penalty shoot-out, which they won 5-4.

Marston Village adapted better to the heavy pitch at home to Cowley Rovers and so earned a 3-1 victory with goals from Stuart Bishop, Rob Mechen and John Barker.

In a second round tie, Roebuck eventually eased through by beating Prince of Wales 6-2.

With the score poised at 1-1 at the break, Roebuck's pressure eventually told as Craig Carter and Justin Ford controlled the midfield, allowing Carl Barber and Gary Rudman to net a brace each. Mark Scanes and Carter himself completed the tally.

Star Wanderers led three times before seeing off the challenge of Vikings 3-2 in their Presidents Cup second-round tie at Vikings.

Michael Dove twice put Star ahead. But Vikings levelled, despite being reduced to ten men, before substitute Lee Keyes saw Wanderers to victory with a strike ten minutes from the end.

Cowley Cosmos snatched the points in their Division 2 top-of-the-table clash with a 3-2 win at home to Yarnton Village, for whom Chris Jordan scored twice.

After a long break, Northway started slowly before finding top gear and beating Oxford YMCA 3-0 through veteran striker Chris Brown (2) and Spencer Palmer.

YMCA continued to battle and saw a penalty saved by Northway keeper Peter Bower.
