TV weather expert Ian McCaskill was forecasting massive benefits when he launched a money-saving 'green' project in Bodicote on Monday.
Mr MacCaskill was at the opening of Cherwell District Council's Light and Energy Scheme a Government-backed initiative aimed at cutting fuel costs and protecting the environment. The event was organised to encourage residents to reduce energy use.
A team of energy advisers were on hand to explain the scheme.
Cllr Andrew Fulljames, chairman of the council's housing committee, said: "Local people have a unique opportunity to buy discounted energy-saving products and services.
"They can really make a difference by doing their bit to help the environment as well as saving themselves money."
Visitors to the roadshow who completed home energy surveys were given low-energy light bulbs.
