Traders have unveiled a bench in memory of a window cleaner who worked tirelessly in Cowley shopping centre up until his death.
Douglas 'Duggie' Beament, of Birchfield Close, Blackbird Leys, was a familiar character around Cowley, where he cleaned shop windows and never downed tools.
His daughter, June West, said: "He never ever took a day's holiday - apart from Christmas Day when the shops were closed.
"He was so loyal - he lived for his work basically and that is what he is best known for."
A bench bought by Cowley traders has now been dedicated to him in Templars Square. The ceremony - on what would have been his 75th birthday - was also attended by members of his family.
Mrs West, of Curtis Avenue, Abingdon, said he would be missed in the Cowley community.
"It's the little things: his little sayings and his jovial ways. He was always such a carefree person," she said. "He was never cross with anybody and never miserable."
Mr Beament suffered a heart attack about two years ago. He died in November 7, after being admitted to hospital for more tests.
