Joe Kinnear has revealed some of the reasons why he walked out on Oxford United to become manager of Luton Town.
Kinnear was yesterday installed as Luton Town's supremo and told a press conference at Kenilworth Road that he was still looking for a No 2.
But it won't be United boss David Kemp, even though Kinnear was trying up until Wednesday to tempt him to Luton.
Kemp has insisted he wants to finish what he has started at Oxford, and is looking to honour his two-year contract.
Lil Fuccillo and his assistant John Moore will be in charge of Luton's game at Northampton tomorrow, with Kinnear taking over training on Monday.
Kinnear explained more about what happened at United, without going into exact details.
"I was offered the Oxford manager's job in the summer, but I would not agree to it," he said. "I was there on a freelance basis, buying and selling players. I believe I got them the nucleus of a team, but if jobs do not become agreeable, you get out of the position."
