Kenny Eldridge recorded a 52 break in the first of his frames as Thame B eased to a 4-2 win at Riley B in Premier & Division 1 of the Oxford League, writes David White.
Eldridge beat Jason Buck in between draws for Mark Syrett against Oliver Hoeblyn and Garrie Sadler against Nolan Aselford.
However, there was better news for Riley B in their Simonds Cup quarter final as they beat Thame D 4-2.
Buck and Hoeblyn halved their matches with Jake Vanderkar and David Feore respectively before Aselford swung the match in favour of Riley, with a win against David White.
Thame A continued their pursuit of the Premier Division title with a 4-2 win at home to Ashton A, whose points came from Terry Chambers, after Pete Fenn and Tony Brayshaw had lost to Mick Bennett and Phil Collins.
In Division 2, Thame C closed the gap on stablemates Thame D thanks to a 6-0 win over Oxford Snooker B. Thame's trio of Chris Blane, Paul Evans and Danny Hamer each recorded comfortable wins.
House Club B moved a point clear at the top of Division 3 following a 4-2 win at County C. Keith Philpot set them on their way by beating Steve Kinane.
Witney C surrendered their unbeaten record in Division 4, going down 4-2 to fellow title hopefuls Thame G, whose winners were Richard King and Steve Hamsted.
There was a clash of the titans in Division 5 as the top two teams did battle. Tom and Len Palmer put second-placed Crown House B 3-0 ahead only to see the Alans Love and Farthing restore parity for Witney D.
