Match report: Banbury Utd 1, Histon 1
Striker Jody McKay marked his 400th game for Banbury United by grabbing a 90th minute equaliser to snatch a Dr Martens Eastern Division point against Histon.
The visitors took the lead against the run of play in the ninth minute through Adie Cambridge.
Banbury had more of the attacking ideas but Histon contained them well and the first half was restricted to a handful of chances.
After the break, Banbury got on top, but all too often the crosses into the Histon area went straight into arms of their tall keeper, Paul Barber.
Banbury's best chance fell to Matty Gooderick in the last ten minutes. Steve Jenkins's ferocious free kick was parried by Barber and Gooderick headed the rebound over the bar from two yards out.
Banbury were denied a blatant penalty when Les Phillips was tripped in the box, but all he got was a yellow card for remonstrating with the referee.
Justice was done in the 90th minute when McKay drove in a left-foot shot from 15 yards.
**Banbury: Tricker, Wallbridge, Redknap (Sherlock 79), Sullivan, Muckelberg, Fuller, Corbett, Phillips, Jenkins, Gooderick, McKay. Subs not used: Harrison, Essex.
